Times are listed in 3 month blocks, to save excessive scrolling! I do receive quite a few
e-mails about these times, Q. I don't live in Halesowen, so will my sunset times be different from yours?
A. Please note that the
sunrise and sunset times given in these tables are accurate for
my home location (Halesowen, West Midlands, UK.) The further you are away from
here, the greater will be the difference between your own
your local sunrise and sunset times, and mine! Q. Will sunrise and sunset times be different next year? A. For all practical
purposes, there will be very little difference year on year, so unless your need
for accuracy is extreme, don't worry about this. If you are worried about a few
seconds, then there will be very slight differences - if you know why we have
leap years then this will explain it, as our 1st January actually starts about 6
hours earlier in the earth's orbit around the sun each year - this is why we pop
in the 366th day every 4 years to make up the 4 x 6 hours lag... So you
could get up to one day's difference at worse, which near the equinoxes (end of
March and end of September) could be between 2 and 3 minutes. So on
average, the error is only around 1 minute if you assume no changes year by
year. |
